Cork Butter Museum celebrates one of Ireland’s greatest success stories. In the 1860’s it was the site of the world’s largest butter market, exporting butter throughout the former–British Empire.

Located a short 10 minute drive or 4 km from Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, Cork Butter Museum in Shandon, will take you on a journey, back to early Ireland. The butter trade’s history is told through the displays and dioramas of the Cork Butter Museum and bring you through the role of dairy in Irish culture with the importance of international exchange and the craft of home-made butter. While on the tour you will receive an intimate insight into commercial, social and domestic life in Ireland.
