Living Green is Clayton Hotels' environmental movement and is integral to how we cater for meetings and reduce our environmental footprint. Accredited by Green Tourism, we currently hold a gold certificate that we are very proud of. Clayton Hotel Silver Springs’ Green Team strives to increase awareness, come up with new ideas, implement measures and educate colleagues on ongoing environmental issues and working practices.

Green facilities

• Our waste management segregation plans prioritise recycling and reduction of single-use plastics.
• Led lighting and motion sensors throughout the meeting rooms, meeting room corridors and toilet facilities to reduce energy consumption when not in use.
• Hybrid Air Conditioning Units are used throughout the meeting rooms.
• Aerators are fitted on all water taps throughout meeting room toilet facilities to reduce water usage by 50%.
• We have a demand response scheme where we use technology to monitor energy consumption in our meeting rooms.

Dining

• Our Head Chef works with local suppliers so that we can cut down on our food miles.
• We provide compostable cups and cutlery for coffee breaks and conference lunches.
• Our herb garden allows us to grow our own organic fresh herbs adding only the best of flavour to our dishes and cocktails.

Transport

• We offer an electric car charger to our delegates.
• There are several Cork TFI rental bike docks located around the city, making getting around easy and green.
• We also encourage our staff to use the bike-to-work scheme for transport to and from work.

Our refreshment break menus offer a variety of quality healthy options such as colourful smoothies, fruit, yoghurts and granola pots in addition to sweet treats, coffees and teas. Lunch menus are devised around local seasonal produce, rich in goodness and easy to digest, ensuring a high level of concentration from your delegates after their break.
